Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)-Prayas

Pre exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is the pre-emptive use of antiretroviral (ARV) drugs to reduce the probability of HIV negative individuals acquiring HIV infection especially persons who engage in high-risk activity. A systematic review and meta-analysis of PrEP trials using TDF containing antiretroviral drug combination demonstrated that PrEP is effective in reducing the risk of acquiring HIV infection.
