An institute devoted exclusively to HIV/AIDS research was thus formed in 1992 with the name ‘National AIDS Research Institute (NARI)’.

Alliance India builds capacity, provides technical support and advocates to strengthen the delivery of effective, innovative, community-based HIV programmes to vulnerable populations affected by the HIV epidemic.
